Cookie policy
What are cookies used for?
Cookies are small text files that a web browser saves on a user's device. Cookies are used, for example, when a user’s information needs to be stored while the user navigates from page to page. Some of the cookies are necessary to enable the user to use the site's full functionality, while others are used in order to improve user experience and facilitate navigation on the site.
There are two types of cookies: permanent and so-called session cookies. Permanent cookies are saved as a file on the user's device for a longer period of time in order to customise the site according to the user's selections and interests. They are used, for example, in connection with functions that tell you what is new since you last visited the site. When the expiration date is exceeded, the cookie is deleted when the user returns to the site that created it. Session cookies are placed temporarily on the user's device when visiting the site, and are sent between device and the server during the site visit and are deleted when the user closes the browser. These cookies are used, for example, to keep track of what language the user has selected.
The use of cookies always requires permission from the user. Website users must be given clear and complete information on cookies and the storage and use of data concerning the use of the web page. The users must be asked for consent to save and use the data.
Avoiding cookies
The use of the 2digi site is not possible if you refuse to accept cookies because cookies are necessary for navigation within the site. Therefore, denying the use of cookies prevents the use of the 2digi site.
Cookies are not used to damage the user's device. Most browsers automatically accept cookies. If you do not wish to allow cookies, you can refuse to accept cookies in your browser's settings and delete any stored cookies. You can also set your browser such that it notifies you when it receives a cookie. This way, you have the opportunity to accept or reject them one by one.
More information regarding your browser settings can be obtained from your browser provider.

A digital skills self-evaluation tool for students
The 2digi project has created a tool for you to test your digital abilities as a language learner. This short test leads you to a profile that informs you just what your digital skills level is.
The answers you provide in your test will be used in our study on developing teaching and learning that is being implemented as part of FINELC’s 2digi project. Your answers will be combined with other responses, so no one respondent can be identified. All your answers will be treated confidentially and in accordance with the principles of research ethics. By doing this test, you consent that your answers can be used for research purposes only.
